Shapeshifters 05 May 09

Shapeshifters-felt.jpgAn evening spent on optimism, what is optimism and how do we do it. One of the metaphors we considered was the doughnut principle, do we look at the ring of the doughnut or the hole? Looking at the positive in any situation is actually our natural state, to be happy, curious and hopeful. However when horrid things happen optimism can leave by the nearest exit leaving us to cope in a less than resourceful state.

So take a step back and consider what is really bugging us? Often when you take a good look at what is happening, it is our resistance or judgement stopping us accepting situations just as they are.

Considering this we looked at areas in our lives where we were currently not accepting the  actions or attitudes of others and worked through ways we could find to be at peace. This does not mean agreeing, condoning or giving in and holding a grudge.

Optimism springs from a place of open acceptance which in its purest form is simply an act of self love.

I wish you much optimistic hope and see you all on 19 May.
