Whether it be a stressful job, the chaos of the holidays, or the burdens of day-to-day life, we all experience feelings of overwhelm. Here’s an NLP Quick Tip to use positive thinking habits to eliminate overwhelm from your life.

These simple steps can help you create positive thinking to give you clearer perspective:

  1. Write it down. Actually write down everything that is overwhelming you. Write specific things that are weighing you down.
  1. Visualise. Take the thing that most overwhelms you and mentally visualise it as growing smaller  and moving away from you. Move it away until it’s just a dot on the horizon.
  1. Repeat. Do this with all the items on your list. This will help you see each task or circumstance individually rather than as a collective. As you break down each item individually, the feelings of suffocation and helplessness will gradually dissipate.

As you take each factor that is overwhelming you one-by-one, you can more easily eliminate feelings of being overwhelmed and develop a new perspective with positive thinking.
